I would probably break up with someone over not liking techno. Sounds extreme. It isn’t.
Music taste isn’t what you play in the car. It’s what you reach for when everything else is stripped away. It’s the frequency you vibrate at when nobody’s watching. Tell me what you listen to alone at 3am and I’ll tell you who you actually are.
For me it needs to be dark. Even if it sounds happy, it needs to be dark to be in my library. Poker Face included. Darkness as a filter, not a genre.
Different values. Different philosophies. That’s what music taste really is. Not preference. Character.
