Dark music explores themes of introspection, despair, hate, and other ‘negative’ aspects of the human experience. Common elements of dark music include haunting melodies, ethereal vocals, and unnatural sounds. Every genre from ambient pop, to industrial hardcore, has a more “serious” sub-genre that falls under “dark music”.
