Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most often. Something missing? Ask in the Discord or join the community.

How do I buy tickets?

Every event page has a tickets section with Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit card support. Pick your ticket tier, hit Buy now, and your wallet does the rest. Confirmation email arrives instantly with a QR code to show at the door.

What’s the minimum age?

Most SLIST events are 21+, but some are 18+ depending on the venue. The minimum age is always listed on the event page next to the venue info. Bring a valid government-issued ID — no exceptions.

What’s the dress code?

Dark, expressive, comfortable to dance in. Think black clothing, techwear, leather, utility, creative experimentation. We don’t enforce a strict code, but you’ll feel out of place in beach casual.

Can I get a refund?

See our refund policy for the full details. TL;DR: we issue refunds up to 48 hours before an event; after that, tickets are non-refundable but transferable — you can send your QR code to a friend who meets the age and dress requirements.

How do I DJ at an SLIST event?

We book based on vibe, not follower count. Submit yourself to our DJ directory with your SoundCloud, Instagram, and a short note on why you fit. We review everything — even if we don’t book immediately, you land in a pool we pull from constantly.

Is there a Discord / community?

Yes — the Discord server is where most of the back-channel happens: early flyer drops, ticket discount codes, artist AMAs, hot takes, memes. Free to join. Come say hi.

Do you do events outside NYC?

NYC is home base, but we travel. We’ve done one-offs and partnerships in other cities when the right venue + lineup aligns. Want to bring SLIST to your city? Pitch us.

Can I host an SLIST event at my venue?

Possibly. We’re selective about venues — we look for sound systems that do darker genres justice, late-license (until 4am+ preferred), and a team that’s comfortable with our crowd. Reach out via the venue directory.

Who runs SLIST?

Saimon Howlader founded SLIST in 2023. Read the full story for how it went from Instagram blog → WhatsApp groups → real events → the platform you’re on now.
