How do we achieve this?

How do we achieve this?

The Framework:

We clearly and unapologetically state our vision, encourage exploration of our subculture, and empower others to embrace it. An underground movement can become an echo chamber; we don’t want that. We aim to shine light on what we do. So we boldly assert who we are and what we stand for. There are countless people with similar values and tastes who haven’t had a space to be heard. We are that space.

How do we achieve this?

The Framework:

We must first define dark art and seek out like minded people. Nurture their tastes and feed their growing appetite for darker, finer, art. They will naturally invite more members, evangelize our movement, and also defend it when necessary. Next we must engage in PSYOPs and expose the brand to as many eyes as possible. As an art movement, we must uplift artist in our community and offer them the tools to promote Slist. Dark culture is naturally abrasive. We must accept our nature, embrace controversy, and spark healthy discourse. We will have haters and detractors, but they too are a precious resource. We must get them deeply emotion, and let them talk about it.
  • Dark art is naturally abrasive, and we don’t shy away from it or sanitize it for commercial appeal. We accept our nature, embrace controversy, and spark healthy discussion. Critics are inevitable—and necessary. People need to talk, share stories, and engage in real dialogue. Our platform not only disseminates art but also sparks debate, introspection, and an exchange of ideas—things long missing from this industry.
  • If this ethos resonates with you, get involved, support us, or simply enjoy the content casually. Everyone is welcome.
  • Our people are everything. We don’t move unless everyone moves with us. We have an open-door policy, always listening to and encouraging community involvement—be it sharing flyers, submitting content, joining our team or DJ directory, or just telling us what we need to improve in the group chat. We continually adapt our work to the underground scene and the growth of our brand. We don’t care if a decision looks “unorthodox” or isn’t industry-approved; if it meets our community’s needs, we do it. Stagnation is death!
  • We’re uncompromising in our ethics and conduct. Too many in this industry climb over each other for a little clout or a quick buck. From day one, we’ve refused to play that game. Our connections are built on mutual respect and love for what we do. We make sure our people are cared for, and everyone is uplifted.
  • We also acknowledge life’s absurdities, so we have fun and avoid taking ourselves too seriously. Sometimes we indulge in playful mischief. Is it excessive at times? Maybe—but we’re real people with real experiences, not a faceless corporation. Art is personal, and like-minded individuals can see themselves reflected in it.
  • We promote artists based on merit, not status. Many collectives just book the biggest names, with no clear vision. People assume Instagram/Spotify followers equal quality—wrong! We keep things fair for artists, regardless of who they are. If you fit the vibe, you fit the vibe. If we see your potential, we’ll do everything we can to help you succeed. Big-name artists often reach out to us because they want to be part of what we’re building. That’s not to say we don’t appreciate larger acts—many of them truly deserve their recognition. But name recognition isn’t our focus; our vision and values are. SLIST events are SLIST events, not [insert famous DJ here] events.
