Dark ambient music

Ambient music is a genre that emphasizes atmosphere and tone over traditional musical structure and rhythm. It’s often described as “peaceful” and can lack beat, composition, and structured melody. Ambient music can create a sense of calm or contemplation and can blend with the listener’s physical environment to create a calming background sound.

Dark ambient features many of the same characteristics as above, but restricts the mood and atmosphere to the darker emotions, and often uses minor notes and melodies to create tension.
